Oyster Yachts Ltd

“Oyster Yachts is an international market leader of world-class cruising yachts. When it came to the Hull and Deck for the new 885 we chose FRP as our trusted partner for managing the Master Pattern (“Plug”) and Mould manufacture on this critical new boat. Working in partnership with mouldCAM UK and Norco GRP, the FRP team delivered Sketch Models, Plugs and Moulds to our exacting specifications by leveraging the latest proven Rapid Manufacturing technologies. In fact the whole process worked so well that we chose to repeat it for the recent 825 project, which included the most complex Deck moulding we had ever designed – incorporating all the Deck furniture in the main moulding and hence saving us thousands of pounds downstream.”

Kano Case

“At MAP we like to offer our clients new ways of looking at – and solving – the problems they present us with. FRP play a crucial part in this process, by providing us with the fast real parts we need to test and develop our ideas. For the recent Kano Casework project FRP advised us on what materials and finishes were available and supplied a range of parts from different processes, all of which fed into the kit we developed for our client. Kano raised $1.5m on Kickstarter for a "computer anyone can make".

“At Ellehammer we design and develop Emergency Fire Pumps for offshore use around the world. In order to showcase our latest product at an important Trade Fair we needed an accurate scale model in standard red colour for off shore Fire Pumps. FRP managed & supplied the whole project for us, in only 3 weeks, from up front CAD translation and managing the various manufacturing techniques required (including rapid prototyping & conventional model making) right through to personal delivery in a custom-made transport case. Mobile World Congress Show 2012

“We needed a complex assembly of 9 injection mouldings (including 52 brass inserts per set) to make 3 product variants for our Product Launch at the Mobile World Congress Show in Feb 2012. These were highly visible technology demonstrators and critical to our presence at the event. FRP delivered on time and to our exact specification, even incorporating some late changes that we needed at the last minute! Project Torpedalo

“Project Torpedalo is a once-in-a-lifetime charitable endeavour to cross the Atlantic using pedal power in a bespoke engineered craft. One of the key items in the drive train is the Driveleg Endcap, made of pure gold (only kidding – it’s aluminium bronze…) which sits at the bottom of the keel and holds the propeller, prop shaft, bearings and seals. FRP stepped up to provide this crucial item – which due to its weight also helps the boat roll upright if it's capsized – and a host of other precision machined aluminium parts as part of their support for the programme. Their team were fantastic, relishing the challenge of tackling some very difficult machining and always being a pleasure to work with. All the parts were delivered on time and precisely to specification. Simply brilliant!”

Project L550 - New Discovery Sport

Royal Parks Foundation

“At The Royal Parks Foundation we work to create a wide variety of innovative projects to make London’s eight amazing Royal Parks even better places for everyone. Thanks to a grant from The Tiffany & Co. Foundation, we recently commissioned a new drinking fountain for the Parks – designed by Moxon Architects and cast in bronze & stainless steel by Castle Fine Arts. FRP provided the rapid CNC cut foam mock-ups so we could evaluate the design at full scale. Following some design tweaks FRP also supplied the finished master patterns for the casting process in under a week, meaning we could reveal the Fountain as planned. A great team effort and we are really pleased with the final result – make sure you look out for one of the new Fountains next time you are in London’s Kensington Gardens!”
